KP CM renews PTI’s stance on Panama Leaks issue
Says party set for street agitation due to mounting public pressure
PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Pervez Khattak on Thursday asked the political parties to protect the interest of masses instead of playing politics over the issues of national importance.
Talking to delegations of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers, members of provincial assembly and others at the Chief Minister’s House here, the chief minister said that his party wanted politics to be based on the interest of the people.
Pervez Khattak said his government wanted accountability and would never give up its stance on the Panama Leaks. “We have been voted to power for introducing a transparent system of governance replacing the old system that was replete with corrupt practices, irregularities, loot and plunder,” he added.
Pervez Khattak said that his party was under constant pressure from the people for accountability of the corrupt.
The chief minister said that his party was all set for street agitation because of the mounting public pressure and the political leadership needed to join the PTI in its struggle to dislodge the corrupt and pave the way for a clean, open and transparent governance in the country.
The delegations assured all-out support to the PTI in its struggle for accountability and transparency at the provincial level. The PTI workers assured to support the PTI government on the Panama Leaks issue and street mobilisation at all levels.
The delegation also drew the attention of the chief minister towards development schemes. The chief minister argued that his government’s development plan has been designed to facilitate people of the entire province. “There will be no discrimination and every area will get its due share in the development strategy,” he assured.
