PESHAWAR: An accountability court on Wednesday approved the plea bargain of an additional director of National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, who was arrested on charges of corruption on Tuesday.
The accountability court judge, Asim Imam, approved the plea bargain application of Rooman Zaheer, submitted by the NAB Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to facilitate his release barely a day after his arrest.
The NAB KP prosecutor, Hasnain Tariq, informed the court that the NAB chairman had accepted the plea bargain application of the accused as he submitted Rs6, 87,610.After approval of the plea bargain, the NAB additional director serving in BPS-19 became disqualified for a government job and politics for 10 years.The NAB claimed that Rooman Zaheer was involved in corruption in connivance with others.
