ISLAMABAD: Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah on Thursday expressed strong reservations about the PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s announcement of the launch of an agitation movement against the government from August 7, saying that his solo flight will damage the joint opposition.
“Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s solo flight against the government can damage the joint opposition,” he said while talking to newsmen in his chamber at the Parliament House.Khursheed said the PTI had taken the decision without taking the opposition parties into confidence.
“I think Imran Khan did not even take his party leaders into confidence,” he said.He said the reason behind the failure of Imran Khan’s 2014 sit-in was his solo flight and he was again doing the same.
Talking about Sindh and the PPP-led government’s affairs, he said credit for peace in Karachi went to the police. He said the PPP had no objection to the Rangers’ special powers but the paramilitary force should not give the perception of being a state within the state. “To abide by the law is mandatory for every institution,” he added.
