Locals brave over 18-hour outages

PAKPATTAN: Citizens Thursday suffered over 18-hour unscheduled power loadshedding in the city and its adjoining areas.
Several people fainted due to hot weather exacerbated by excessive loadshedding.
The power outages disturbed routine activities of the locals.
The locals demanded the government look into the matter.
2 INJURED: Two people were injured in two incidents on Thursday.
Accused Manzoor and his accomplices entered the house of Munawer Zareef in Qaboola Town and injured her.Accused Ali Ahmad and his accomplices intercepted Alam Sher and shot at and injured him critically. Police have registered cases.
FAKE CHEQUE CASES: Two people were booked on charges of issuing fake cheques on Thursday.
Accused Najma Parveen had received Rs 750,000 loan from Adeel Ahmad of Chak 20/EB and gave him a cheque that bounced.
Accused Muhammad Mansha purchased three buffaloes for Rs 930,000 from Muhammad Mumtaz of Pakpattan and gave him a cheque that bounced.
Police have registered cases.
VALUABLES TAKEN AWAY: A man was deprived of car, cash and valuables on Thursday.
Malik Asif of Ziaud Din Colony, Depalpur, was heading to Chak Chowk Malgga in a hired car. When he reached near the shrine of Baba Aakhan Shah, six bandits intercepted them and tied driver Javed Iqbal with a rope and took away car, Rs 354,000 and cell phones.
Police have registered case.
PO ESCAPES: A proclaimed offender (PO) escaped with the connivance of his accomplice on Thursday.
Police raided Chak 163/EB to arrest PO Yaseen but he escaped when his accomplice Javed alerted him about the arrival of police.

BOOTLEGGERS HELD: Police arrested two bootleggers on Thursday.
