ISLAMABAD: State Minister Abdul Hakeem Baloch has said that Sindh government was responsible for environmental degradation being observed in Karachi.
Talking to a news channel, he said that the Pakistan People’s Party and Muttahida Quomi Movement (MQM) were responsible to look after the affairs of the environment in Karachi, adding that both the parties could not take steps to control deforestation in the area.
He said that there was need to bring improvement in different institutions falling under the jurisdiction of the provincial government.Baloch said that there was also need to focus on controlling the elements involved in land grabbing, minting money through unfair sources and other heinous activities.
To a question, he said that environment degradation was also one of the reasons for rising temperature which caused deaths of so many people in Karachi and other areas.He said that the provincial government of Sindh should take measures to ensure good governance to facilitate people of the area.
