ISLAMABAD: Out of the six independent senators elected in the recent Senate elections in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, five Saturday formally joined the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

All the five senators have submitted their declarations to the party Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan. However, the declaration of the sixth senator, Murad Saeed, has not been submitted yet.

Azam Swati, Mirza Afridi, Faisal Javed, Noorul Haq Qadri and Rubina Naz, who won the Senate elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, submitted their declarations to the PTI chairman.

“Five newly-elected senators have submitted their declarations to me and I shall submit the same to the Election Commission of Pakistan on Monday,” Gohar said when The News contacted him on his mobile phone. When asked about any idea why Murad Saeed had not so far submitted the declaration, the party chairman expressed his complete ignorance about it.
