Outgoing Austrian envoy pays farewell call on Zardari
ISLAMABAD: The outgoing Ambassador of Austria to Pakistan, Mrs Andrea Wicke, paid a farewell call on President Asif Ali Zardari at Aiwan-e-Sadr on Wednesday.
Zardari appreciated her efforts in strengthening bilateral cooperation during her tenure. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi was also present in the meeting.
During the meeting, Zardari said Pakistan attaches great importance to its relations with Austria and emphasised the need to enhance trade and economic ties for the mutual benefit of the two countries. He highlighted the vast potential of Pakistan’s tourism sector and invited Austrian investment, particularly in alpine tourism, an area where Austria possesses considerable expertise.
The President also underlined Pakistan’s growing pool of skilled IT professionals and suggested that Austrian companies could benefit from Pakistan’s human capital in the information technology sector.
Zardari congratulated Ambassador Wicke on the successful completion of her assignment and extended his best wishes for her future endeavours.
