Forgery scandal uncovered at Balochistan Board
QUETTA: A major scandal involving fake academic credentials and tampering with official records has been uncovered at the Balochistan Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Quetta. Following a successful operation by the Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Balochistan, six individuals have been arrested.
Those taken into custody are Additional Controller Noor Ahmed, Deputy Controller Munawar Hussain, Assistant Secretary Muhammad Aslam, Assistants Saeed Ahmed and Abdul Qadeem, and a student from Washuk district, Saeedullah—son of Lal Jan—who benefited from the forgery.
The arrests followed an investigation initiated by the Balochistan High Court in response to Constitutional Petition No. 533/2025.
The inquiry revealed that the student from Washuk, in collusion with board officials, had fraudulently obtained a forged and tampered marksheet/degree, which he used to secure admission to Bolan Medical College in Quetta.
In compliance with the court’s directive, a special investigation team was formed by the Anti-Corruption Establishment Quetta.
The team collected relevant records, recorded statements of the involved officials, and submitted a comprehensive inquiry report.
The findings confirmed that Saeedullah had got admission to Bolan Medical College using a forged marksheet, despite his actual marks falling short of the required merit.
The report further revealed that board officials were centrally involved in abusing their authority, breaching public trust, committing forgery, and tampering with official documents.
Based on the inquiry report, the high court ordered the registration of a case and the initiation of legal proceedings against all involved.
Acting on the court’s instructions, the ACE Quetta arrested six individuals—five board officials and the student who benefited from the fraudulent act. Further arrests are expected as the investigation continues.
