Afraid to write
Why are students so afraid of writing? This fear is silently spreading in many classrooms. Nowadays, students speak confidently, but when it comes to writing, many lose interest. One major reason is the fear of making mistakes in grammar, spelling, sentence structure or vocabulary. Another reason is the fear of being judged. Sadly, this fear is pulling students away from a skill that is essential for self-expression and critical thinking. I have seen many students skip class when they hear about a writing competition, simply because they lack confidence. This shows just how serious the problem has become. I strongly urge teachers and parents to encourage students to write freely, without the fear of perfection. Writing should be promoted as a passion and not a punishment.
