MANSEHRA: Inspector General of Police Zulfiqar Hameed, on Saturday said that the police were providing foolproof security, healthcare and other essential services to both local and foreign tourists visiting recreational destinations across the province.
“Tourism is the backbone of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s economy, and the number of visitors to its scenic valleys and resorts has been increasing every year due to the peaceful environment and unmatched hospitality,” he told the mediamen at the tourist facilitation centre in Naran, the commercial hub of Kaghan valley.
District Police Officer Shafiullah Khan Gandapur accompanied the IGP during his visit.Zulfiqar Hameed expressed satisfaction with the functioning of the facilitation centres, where male and female personnel in uniform were guiding and assisting visitors arriving from across the country and abroad.
“The presence of doctors and paramedical staff at the centre demonstrates the police department’s commitment to ensuring visitors’ health and safety,” the IGP said.He praised the district police for their performance, saying that a record number of tourists visited Kaghan valley during Eidul Azha and the police provided round-the-clock security, guidance and health services.
“The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police are a people-friendly force, and this facilitation centre reflects that spirit, offering warm hospitality and assistance to every visitor, including women,” he added.
Briefing the IGP, DPO Shafiullah Khan Gandapur said it was the first time that medical teams with doctors were deployed at the tourists facilitation centre to provide on-site healthcare services to visitors, particularly women and children.
