MULTAN: The Punjab government has taken a significant step towards digital transformation by directing all provincial government offices to fully implement the e-Filing and Office Automation System (eFOAS). This initiative aims to streamline operations and enhance efficiency across the province.
The South Punjab Secretariat has been tasked with ensuring the implementation of eFOAS across all its subordinate administrative offices in the region. Notably, the South Punjab Secretariat was a pioneer in digital transformation within the province, having introduced such systems two years ago. The roadmap for this digital shift was prepared by Atil Saqib, a former Secretary of South Punjab Agriculture.
To oversee this crucial implementation, the South Punjab Secretariat recently held an exclusive meeting chaired by Ali Atif Buttar, Additional Secretary Coordination, on Thursday. The meeting saw the participation of focal persons from all departments.
During the session, Ali Atif Buttar instructed all administrative departments in South Punjab to ensure the e-filing implementation at their subordinate offices. He emphasized that Additional Chief Secretary Mr. Fuad Hashim Rabbani has set a deadline of June 31 for the system’s complete adoption. A system-generated compliance report will be submitted to the government, and officers failing to comply will be held accountable.
Buttar highlighted that the e-filing system will eliminate the outdated manual file system, leading to improved efficiency and significant time savings. He also reiterated that the South Punjab Secretariat is the first regional institution in the province to adopt this system. Abdul Rauf, Senior Programme Manager PITB, provided a detailed briefing on the e-filing system’s functionalities and benefits.
