PESHAWAR: Advisor to Chief Minister on Information and Public Relations Barrister Dr Muhammad Ali Saif on Thursday criticised Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for naming public projects after herself and her father, former prime minister Nawaz Sharif.
In a statement issued here, Dr Saif questioned, “How can individuals who have not been elected by the people lay claim to public projects in their own names?” “Imran Khan rightly had said that not only are these individuals uneducated, but they also make no effort to learn. They have no right to associate even the London flats with their names, as those too were purchased with money stolen from the public through tax evasion,” he added
Dr Saif emphasized that public projects require genuine public mandate and a proven history of public service to be rightfully associated with anyone’s name. He said that the nation was well aware that both Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz came into power through fraudulent Form-47s. “The real hero of the nation is Imran Khan, who has brought international recognition to Pakistan,” he said. “What have Nawaz Sharif or Maryam Nawaz done that the nation can be proud of?”
He maintained that the people of Pakistan decisively rejected Nawaz Sharif in the general elections of February 8, 2024. “Despite the unlawful imprisonment of PTI leaders, Dr. Yasmin Rashid defeated Nawaz Sharif. His presence in the assembly today is due to fake Form-47s,” he added.
