Rawalpindi: At the start of the new financial year, the Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) Rawalpindi has announced an ambitious set of projects aimed at beautifying Rawalpindi and Murree, upgrading public spaces, and enhancing recreational facilities.

Director General PHA Rawalpindi, Ahmed Hassan Ranjha, stated that several major initiatives are being launched to maintain the city's green environment and elevate its aesthetic appeal. One of the key projects includes the beautification and upgradation of the city’s main artery, Murree Road. As part of the plan, all major pillars across the city will be decorated, with the addition of Quranic verses and the beautiful names of Allah to enhance the spiritual and visual appeal of the urban landscape.

He further revealed that a monument inscribed with Durood Sharif will be constructed along Rawal Road, offering both spiritual significance and a striking visual landmark for the city. In a major green initiative, around 75,000 saplings will be planted along the Rawalpindi Ring Road to combat pollution and foster a sustainable environment. Furthermore, the Gorakhpur Nursery will be expanded over 1,000 kanals, with plans to cultivate hundreds of thousands of saplings, contributing significantly to the city’s afforestation efforts.

The DG also shared that various beautification and recreational projects are planned for Murree, aiming to enrich the tourist experience and preserve the natural charm of the hill station.
