LWMC initiates cleaning operation on 40 roads

LAHORE:Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) has initiated a specialised cleaning operation encompassing scraping, washing, sprinkling, and anti-dust measures along 40 of Lahore's major roads.

Scraping and washing activities on prominent roads such as Ferozepur Road, Hali Road, Main Boulevard Gulberg, Noor Jahan Road, and Mall Road. Additionally, Saggian Road, Taj Company Road, Shahdara Chowk, GT Road, Truck Adda, and Lari Adda.

Scraping and sprinkling efforts were also underway on Circular Road, Aik Moria Pull, Railway Station, Shalamar Bagh, Bhogiwal Road, Daroghawala, and Salamatpura. In Mominpura Bhini Road, Dharampura, Harbanspura, and Rehmanpura, scraping activities are making headway.

Furthermore, LWMC sanitation squads were dedicated to anti-dust activities on key routes such as Maulana Shaukat Ali Road, Peco Road, Allah-Hu Chowk, College Road, Bagrian Chowk, Kacha Jail Road, Madr-e-Millat Road, Multan Road, Thokar Chowk, MAO College Chowk, Chauburji, and Azadi Chowk.

LWMC CEO reaffirmed the organisation's top priority, which is to provide Lahore's citizens with a clean and safe environment. He urged citizens to take preventive measures against air pollution, including refraining from burning or disposing of garbage improperly and always using designated trash bins.

Meanwhile, the District Administration Lahore, spearheaded by Deputy Commissioner Musa Raza, was actively working to enhance civic amenities, with a particular focus on improving sanitation and drainage systems.
