City receives scattered rain
LAHORE:Cloudy weather with scattered rain was observed in the City here Tuesday while Met office predicted similar weather conditions for the next 24 hours.
Met office warned that very hot weather was expected in most plain areas of the country from Wednesday (today) to Saturday (21 June). General public especially children, women and senior citizens were advised to take precautionary measures and avoid exposure to direct sunlight during the day time especially during peak sunshine hours (11AM to 04 PM), stay safe and hydrated.
They said continental air was prevailing over most parts of the country. They predicted that mainly hot and dry weather was expected in most parts of the country while very hot during day time in plain areas. Isolated rain-thunderstorm was expected in Kashmir and adjoining hilly areas.
Rainfall was recorded at several cities, including Tharparkar, Mithi, Diplo, Garhi Dupatta, Muzaffarabad, Zhob, Barkhan, Skardu, Bagrote and Balakot. Tuesday’s maximum temperature was recorded at Jacobabad and Mohen-Jo-Daro where mercury reached 46°C, while in Lahore, it was 34°C.
