PESHAWAR: Adviser to the Chief Minister on Information and Public Relations, Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif, said on Monday that the federal government could not weaken Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan’s resolve by keeping him in solitary confinement.

According to a handout, he said that the judiciary had been paralyzed by the 26th Constitutional Amendment. “Despite court orders, neither Imran Khan’s family members nor party leaders are being allowed to meet him,” he said, adding that the 26th Amendment had caused irreparable damage to the country.

The adviser termed the federal government a fake and accused it of having shackled the justice system with the chains of the 26th Amendment. “Imran Khan, along with all PTI leaders, are prisoners of conscience. The fake regime cannot harm Imran Khan, but it has certainly pushed the country to the brink of disaster,” he alleged.

Saif said that Imran Khan would fight for the true freedom of the nation until his last drop of blood. He accused Pakistan Muslim League N chief Nawaz Sharif and President Asif Ali Zardari of having struck deals to leave the country, but said Imran Khan would never go for such a deal.

The adviser said that fake cases had been instituted against Imran Khan by the federal government, which failed to prove them in court, leading to repeated adjournments. He concluded that by saying that Imran Khan was the last hope for the youth, and the day was not far when he and all PTI leaders would stand vindicated.
