PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has appointed a senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader and former district nazim Peshawar, Mohammad Asim Khan, as his special assistant.
A notification, issued here on Wednesday, stated that in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 3(1) of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Advisors and Special Assistants to the Chief Minister (Appointment) Act, 1989, the Governor, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, on the advice of the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, is pleased to appoint Mohammad Asim Khan, as Special Assistant to Chief Minister, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with immediate effect.
Mohammad Asim Khan has a long association with PTI and its founder and former prime minister Imran Khan.
He was elected as district nazim Peshawar from 2015 to 2019. He was also elected senior vice president of the party of Peshawar region, Peshawar district president and general secretary, and later became PTI Peshawar regional president. Mohammad Asim Khan was also appointed as focal person of the chief minister for mega projects.He will be assigned his portfolio after the budget this week.
