PESHAWAR: Alkhidmat Foundation Khyber Pakhtun-khwa carried out a large-scale qurbani campaign on Eidul Azha 2025 under which animals’ worth over Rs156.6 million were sacrificed and the meat was distributed among more than 233,000 deserving people across the province.

According to provincial president of the foundation, Khalid Waqas Chamkani, the Alkhidmat volunteers sacrificed 1129 animals over the three days of Eid as part of its Qurbani Project 2025.

The meat was distributed among orphans, widows, madrassa students, deserving Afghan refugees, drug rehabilitation patients, under-trial prisoners, hospitalised travelers and their attendants, children suffering from thalassemia, street children, the transgender community and other underprivileged segments of society.

Media manager of the foundation Norul Wahid Jadoon said that this year, Qurbani donations worth Rs 7.065 million were also dedicated to the victims of Gaza, which were dispatched via the central office of the foundation before Eid.

Alkhidmat organized collective Qurbani events in all 36 districts of the province, where sacrificial animals donated from both within Pakistan and abroad were offered. The central camp for the Qurbani Project 2025 was established in the provincial metropolis under the supervision of Khalid Waqas, general secretary Shakir Siddiqui, vice-president Fida Muhammad Khan and district president Arbab Abdul Haseeb.

Volunteers worked at the grassroots level to collect hides of sacrificial animals with hundreds of camps set up across the province. This year, the public donated a record number of hides to Alkhidmat, exceeding past years. The proceeds from these hides will help fund relief activities for the underprivileged throughout the year.

Provincial president Khalid Waqas extended gratitude to charitable individuals and organizations both domestic and international who contributed animals and hides to Alkhidmat Foundation. He also lauded the relentless efforts of Alkhidmat’s provincial, district and zonal teams and volunteers, who sacrificed their own Eid celebrations to serve others. He prayed for divine acceptance of their sacrifices and blessings in return.
