In Pakistan, 80 per cent of agriculture depends on the Indus River system and the end of the treaty can cause big problems, especially for farmers and poor people. In this context, it is essential to ensure that the treaty survives.

However, we must acknowledge that this might not be possible. As such, we need to take urgent steps towards more water conservation and better water storage facilities.
