ABBOTTABAD: Deputy Inspector General of Police, Hazara, Nasir Mehmood Satti has ordered the deployment of over 6,000 personnel across the region to ensure peace and security during Eidul Azha holidays.
Reviewing the monthly security plan via video link with all district police officers (DPOs), the DIG emphasised the importance of maintaining law and order during the Eid holidays. He said that police, elite force, special security unit, traffic wardens, special branch, reserve police and ladies police would be on duty to manage crowds and prevent any untoward incidents. Similarly, he said, additional personnel would be deployed around eidgahs, important mosques, and imambargahs to ensure security and prevent any disruptions.
“The traffic flow in cattle markets will be monitored through the district Command and Control Room, and CCTV cameras will be used to keep a close watch on eidgahs and other important places,” the official said.
He stressed the need for establishing checkpoints at entrance and exit routes to check vehicles and people coming from other cities, ensuring travel facilities and security for tourists.He directed to deploy lady police officers to patrol marketplaces and white flags would be deployed at crowded areas to maintain order and prevent incidents.
“Strict legal action will be taken against those involved in aerial firing, fireworks, drifting, and one-wheeling during Eid celebrations,” he said, adding that efforts would be intensified to arrest proclaimed offenders.He urged the citizens to be cautious during Eid and report any suspicious activity to the relevant authorities.
