Expedite house purchasing for families of martyred cops: minister

LAHORE:Provincial Minister for Law Malik Sohaib Ahmad Bharth issued directions to expedite the process of house purchases for the families of martyrs. He said that under the Shuhada Package, a significant increase of Rs5.4 million per head has been made for the purchase of houses.

The provincial minister issued these directions during his visit to the Central Police Office where he also attended the ceremony held in honour of the families of police martyrs as the chief guest on Thursday. Provincial Minister for Law distributed keys of new houses among families of seven police martyrs. He also distributed financial assistance cheques among the families of 11 police martyrs who embraced martyrdom before 2017 for the construction of houses. The minister also handed over foreign scholarship cheques worth Rs3.5 million to two brilliant children of police martyrs for higher education in the United Kingdom.

Provincial Minister for Law said that the police martyrs, who took bullets on their chests for the protection of citizens, are extremely close to the heart of Chief Minister Punjab. On the special instructions of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, historic measures are being taken for the families of police martyrs. As per the directions of the Chief Minister, Package III for police martyrs is being further improved. Even the most precious things in the world cannot compensate for the sacrifices of the martyrs. Chief Minister Punjab and all provincial ministers pay tribute to the eternal sacrifices of police martyrs.

Provincial Minister for Law also paid tribute to the IG Punjab and his team for the unparalleled welfare efforts for the police force, martyrs, and their families. The minister further said that today’s Punjab is safer and more crime-free due to the great sacrifices of 1,683 police martyrs and 2,163 Ghazis. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar briefed the Provincial Minister about the welfare initiatives being undertaken for the families and children of police martyrs. According to the Punjab Police spokesperson, the families and children of police martyrs are being provided plots, shelter, medical treatment, and quality higher education facilities.

Inspector General Punjab said that due to the leadership of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz and the support of the Law Minister, visible improvements have been made in the Shuhada Package.
