5,017 criminals arrested in five months
LAHORE:Lahore Police arrested 5,017 proclaimed and habitual offenders and court absconders during the first five months of the current year.
According to the spokesperson for DIG Operations, 910 of these arrests were made through the use of the “Smart Eye System,” which collects data on travelers and hotel guests. Offenders were apprehended from hotels, bus terminals, railway stations, and checkpoints using the Smart Eye app. The spokesperson stated that modern technology is being utilised to ensure citizens’ safety and secure travel, and that effective use of this technology is essential. Regarding the false propaganda spread by Bajash Niazi, the spokesperson clarified that two meetings were held last month between the SHO and the managers and data entry operators of Niazi Bus Service, in which clear instructions were given to issue each passenger a ticket against their CNIC. SP and DSP were directed to update and maintain the “Travel Eye” software system.
