Funeral prayers offered for martyred cop
The funeral prayers of Constable Shehryar Ali, who was martyred in a targeted attack by unidentified assailants, were offered at the Central Police Office (CPO) Karachi on Monday.
A police contingent in full uniform paid tribute with a ceremonial salute to honour the fallen officer. According to a spokesperson for the inspector general of Sindh police, Ali was serving in the Anti-Vehicle Lifting Cell (AVLC) and was shot dead by unknown attackers in the jurisdiction of the Yousuf Plaza police station.
The funeral was attended by Sindh Police Chief IG Ghulam Nabi Memon, Additional IG Establishment, Additional IG Karachi, Karachi Range DIGs, DIG CIA, DIG Traffic, District SSPs, along with family members, colleagues and residents of the area.
Senior officers, including the Sindh IGP and the additional IGs, expressed their condolences to the bereaved family and offered prayers and Fateha for the departed soul. Memon vowed that the perpetrators behind the murder would be brought to justice.
