Girl killed, two injured in Mekhtar shooting
Levies personnel reach scene promptly and shifted deceased and injured to the hospital
QUETTA: An eight-year-old girl was killed and two others, including a woman, were injured when armed assailants opened fire on a passenger van in Mekhtar Tehsil of Loralai district on Sunday.
According to details, unidentified dacoits fired on the van, resulting in the tragic death of the minor girl and injuries to two others. Levies personnel reached the scene promptly and shifted the deceased and injured to the hospital. After necessary legal formalities, the girl’s body was handed over to her family. Levies officials have registered a case and launched a search operation to apprehend the culprits. Meanwhile, the victim’s family staged a protest by placing the body on the road. The demonstrators demanded the immediate arrest and prosecution of those involved in the attack and called for the suspension of Levies personnel deployed in the area, citing negligence.
