Three killed, six injured as coach collides with rickshaw
HYDERABAD: A passenger coach arriving from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Saturday collided head-on with a rickshaw on Hala Naka Road, in the Hatri police jurisdiction, completely destroying the front portion of the rickshaw and injuring the passengers inside.
Hyderabad SSP Adeel Chandio said female passengers Sadoori and Asma, and a man identified as Riaz, alias Kalu Hajano, died on the spot, while six other people were injured. The victims were heading from a nearby village to the market for Eid shopping when the accident occurred.
Hajano community members expressed their anger over delayed police response. They vandalised the passenger coach, and later clashed with police, claiming that the injured were taken to the Civil Hospital after an unacceptable delay.
Police said the coach driver fled the scene immediately after the crash, while his vehicle has been impounded.
