DPO vows to bring killers of woman, daughter to justice
MANSEHRA: District Police Officer Shafiullah Khan Gandapur on Saturday said that the police would not tolerate the killing of men and women in the name of honour.
“We have launched a search and strike operation in the difficult terrain of Tanawal for the first time to arrest those who killed a woman and her minor daughter in the name of honour and are currently on the run,” Gandapur told the family of the slain woman, who was murdered along with her three-year-old daughter in Pulrah earlier this week. The accused, now fugitives, allegedly killed the woman and her three-year-old daughter because she had entered into a court marriage of her own free will in 2021.
“We are carrying out this operation in the rugged mountains with full force and are optimistic that the culprits will be captured and made an example for others who commit such heinous crimes in the name of honour,” he added.
