In an incident near Ayesha Manzil, four armed assailants riding two motorcycles robbed a livestock trader at gunpoint, fleeing with his rickshaw, three sacrificial goats, and a mobile phone.

The victim, Rashid Saleem, a resident of FC Area Liaquatabad and a barber by profession, was working temporarily as a livestock trader ahead of Eid-Ul-Adha. After trying to sell his animals near Café Piyala, he was returning home when the robbery occurred.

As he approached the Jamaat Khana, the robbers intercepted his rickshaw, held him at gunpoint, forced him off the vehicle, and made off with the goats, mobile phone, and rickshaw. The visibly distraught trader was later seen sitting on the sidewalk in tears, saying the animals had been purchased with his entire year’s savings for the festive occasion.

The incident had sparked serious concern among local residents, who claimed such crimes had become alarmingly frequent in the area. Many criticised the police for their inaction against criminals.

A case had been registered at the Azizabad police station. The police said CCTV footage from the scene had been collected and added that increased patrols—both in mobile vans and on motorcycles—had been deployed in the area ahead of the Eid season.
