Shahid’s four-wicket haul puts Sahir Associates in command
LAHORE: A brilliant four-wicket haul by Shahid Ali helped Sahir Associates take a commanding lead in the President’s Trophy Grade-II final against MIT Solutions at Abbottabad Cricket Stadium. At stumps on Day 2, Sahir Associates stood at 52/0 in seven overs, extending their lead to 189 runs.
The day’s proceedings saw only 49 overs bowled due to a delayed start caused by rain, with MIT Solutions resuming their first innings at 46/1. However, they struggled against Sahir Associates’ pace attack, getting dismissed for 135 in 41.5 overs.
M Tayyab was MIT Solutions’ top scorer with 36 not out, while Zain Ishaq (26) and Muhammad Bilal (21) provided brief resistance. Shahid Ali with 4-60 in 12.5 overs dismantled MIT Solutions’ middle order while Mohsin Khan, M Bilawal and Khan Zeb got two wickets apiece, ensuring total control. With a healthy lead, Sahir Associates will aim to solidify their dominance on Saturday, while MIT Solutions must strike back quickly to stay in contention.
