A kidnapping case turned out to be that of self-abduction as the Darakhshan police recovered the 24-year-old son of a senior government officer who had gone missing under suspicious circumstances.

According to police, Javed Solangi, a resident of DHA Phase VI and government officer, had lodged a report stating that his son Hassan Solangi had left home in his private vehicle but did not returned.

Initially, there was brief contact with Hassan over the phone, during which he informed his family that he would be back shortly. However, shortly thereafter, both his mobile numbers were found switched off, and he became completely unreachable.

An abduction case was registered at the Darakhshan police station and police initiated action to recover the youth. Using modern investigative techniques, including mobile data tracking and CCTV footage analysis, police launched a thorough

investigation.

As a result, Hassan was recovered safely from the Pak Colony area along with his private vehicle. However, during the course of further inquiry, it was discovered that Hassan had not been kidnapped.

Instead, the case was classified as a self-abduction case. Hassan was later handed over to his father.

Police said investigations were under way to ascertain Hassan’s motive behind

disappearing.
