Consultative session
LAHORE : A private university, in collaboration with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), the International Centre for Research in Islamic Economics, and the Department of Islamic Economics, Banking, and Finance, organised a consultative session on the theme 'Reinvigorating the Institution of Waqf'.
The session was held in the Board Room at the Office of the Board of Governors, Minhaj University Lahore, and was hosted by Registrar Prof Dr Khurram Shehzad. The event was chaired by Prof Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, a distinguished economist and Deputy Chairman of the Board of Governors at Minhaj University. Dr Ijaz Aslam, Head of the Department of Islamic Economics, Banking, and Finance, welcomed the guests and participants.
On behalf of SECP, Deputy Director Muhammad Asad Ali and Assistant Director Tauseef-ur-Rehman presented the Concept Paper, outlining key proposals for legal reforms, transparency mechanisms, and modern institutional frameworks to revitalise the Waqf sector.
