Man handed life term for killing stepmother

PESHAWAR: A court on Monday sentenced a man to life imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 400,000 on him after he was found guilty of murdering his stepmother.

Additional Sessions Judge Aamir Ali handed down the verdict.Assistant Public Prosecutor Imran Khan represented the prosecution.According to the prosecution, the accused, Abubakar, was charged with shooting and severely injuring his stepmother during a heated argument in the jurisdiction of the Michni Gate Police Station.

She was taken to the hospital for medical treatment, but succumbed to her injuries.A case was registered against the accused, and he was subsequently arrested.Based on the testimonies of witnesses and available evidence, the court found the accused guilty and sentenced him to life imprisonment.
