Police lauded for PSL security

LAHORE:Lahore Police made exceptional security arrangements for 10th edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL) that concluded peacefully at the Gaddafi Stadium on Sunday night.

DIG Operations Faisal Kamran commended the force for its successful duty and thanked all related departments for their cooperation.

A four-tier security cordon was established for the final match, with over 11,000 police personnel deployed. DIG Operations, SSP Operations, all SPs, and other senior officers were present in the field themselves.

Walk-through gates and modern scanning systems were installed at stadium entry points, while continuous surveillance was maintained via CCTV cameras inside and around the stadium. Snipers were positioned on high-rise buildings, and police patrolling was intensified on major roads.

DIG Operations stated that all units including the Bomb Disposal Squad, Dolphin Force, Elite Force, and others remained fully alert. Close coordination was maintained with allied departments, particularly Rescue 1122, which was also on high alert. Female police officers were deployed for the convenience and safety of women spectators.

Faisal Kamran emphasised that alongside security, the spirit of public service was also promoted. Families of martyrs and wounded officers were specially invited to the match as honoured guests. Police personnel, volunteers, peons, and office staff with outstanding performance were also given VIP status and recognised for their contributions. He expressed gratitude to citizens for their cooperation during security checks and praised the patience and support of residents living around Gaddafi Stadium.
