Modern respiratory care clinic launched at LGH
LAHORE:A modern respiratory care clinic for children has been formally launched in the Pediatric Department of Lahore General Hospital. The clinic was named after Prof Al-Fareed Zafar to pay tribute to the professional services of former principal LGH, AMC and PGMI and to make child healthcare more effective.
Children suffering from various respiratory diseases will be examined, observed and followed up in this clinic. These diseases include asthma, cystic fibrosis, pulmonary TB and other complex respiratory diseases. Prof Dr Faryad Hussain told that children coming to the clinic will be provided with daily outdoor check-ups and weekly bronchoscopy facilities. Children who face difficulties in diagnosing their diseases will be further examined through bronchoscopy, so that timely and accurate treatment can be made possible.
Prof Faryad said that this respiratory care clinic is not only a great facility for children but will also bring satisfaction to parents. He added that according to the vision of CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz, all resources will be utilised to provide quality medical facilities to patients.
