ABBOTTABAD: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Inspector General of Police Zulfiqar Hameed on Saturday inaugurated the newly-constructed Khanaspur Police Post here on Sunday.
The initiative follows IGP’s directives to reconstruct aging police stations and outposts while establishing new facilities to address operational needs. The Khanspur Police Post, now operational, is part of this broader infrastructural overhaul.
During the ceremony, senior officials, including DIG Hazara Nasir Mahmood Satti, DPO Abbottabad Umar Tufail and SSP Traffic Qamar Hayat Khan were present.Earlier, the IGP Hameed conducted a thorough inspection of the facility, reviewing emergency response equipment and operational readiness. Emphasizing environmental stewardship, he also planted a sapling on the premises.
DIG Satti and DPO Tufail briefed the IGP on the outpost’s strategic significance, highlighting its role in enhancing public safety and crime prevention. Later, the IGP visited the Abbottabad Police’s Tourist Facilitation Centre, Mobile Police Canteen and Police Camp, initiatives designed to assist tourists.
He interacted with visitors, assessing the quality of services such as guidance, refreshments, and emergency support. Commending these efforts, he stated, “The Abbottabad Police’s proactive measures for tourists set a commendable standard. All resources must be mobilised to ensure tourists receive seamless assistance and security.”
