Arshad declared best Asian athlete by AAA president
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s pride Arshad Nadeem has been declared the best Asian athlete at a ceremony held in Gumi (Korea) Sunday evening.
Asian Athletics Association (AAA) President Dahlan Jumaan Al Hamad awarded Arshad a trophy for the best Asian athlete. He along with his coach Salman Butt was invited on the dice where the award was presented to Arshad.
The legendary athlete holds the Olympic record of sending the javelin to a distance of 92.97 at the Paris Olympics. It was a moment of pride not only for Pakistan but also for Asia. The ceremony was organised on the sidelines of the Asian Athletics Championship in Gumi (Korea) as the Asian Meet starts today (Monday). Meanwhile, Arahad is set to compete in the javelin throw event of the Asian Meet on May 31.
