ISLAMABAD: The hearing of the case registered against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Asad Qaiser in connection with the Azadi March protest has been completed in the District and Sessions Courts Islamabad.
After hearing the arguments of the parties, the court reserved the verdict on the acquittal application, which will be announced on June 17.
The hearing of the case at Kohsar Police Station was conducted by Judicial Magistrate Abbas Shah. During the hearing, Asad Qaiser’s lawyer Ayesha Khalid took the stand that her client has no criminal record in the past, he was not present at the scene and no recovery has been made.
The lawyer said that the cases registered against Asad Qaiser were made on political grounds. It should be remembered that a case has been registered against Asad Qaiser under other provisions, including violation of Section 144.
In another case, Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Islamabad has issued bail orders for 86 workers of PTI. The bails of these people were earlier approved by the Islamabad High Court (IHC).
The bail orders have been formally issued by the ATC and the PTI workers are expected to be released from jail in 1 to 2 days. These workers were under detention in various cases registered in Kohsar and Tarnol police stations, which included serious provisions.
