Death of 6 kids in blast: Protest sit-in enters 6th day in N Waziristan
MIRANSHAH: The protest sit-in over the killing of four children in a bomb attack in North Waziristan’s Mir Ali tehsil entered its sixth consecutive day on Saturday, as grieving families and local residents continued their demonstration with the bodies of the deceased.
A bomb exploded at a house in the village of Hormuz on Monday, killing four children from the same family and injuring five others, including a woman and more children. The incident sparked widespread outrage in the community.
Relatives of the victims, local elders from the Utmanzai tribe, religious scholars, members of political parties, and National Assembly Member Mufti Misbahuddin joined the protest in Mir Ali Chowk, demanding justice and accountability.
The protest has caused the closure of all major roads in Mir Ali, forcing residents to rely on unpaved and difficult alternative routes for transportation.
Speaking to the media, Mufti Baitullah said that negotiations with the district administration have failed. “We have decided to continue the sit-in until our demands are met,” he said, adding that consultations were ongoing about moving the protest, along with the bodies, to Islamabad if necessary.
