Rural neglect

Much has been said but nothing noticeable has been done to improve the quality of life of people living in the remote areas of Sindh and Balochistan. It is evident from past and present budgetary allocations that rural development has remained a low priority.
The rulers have not accorded the desired attention to the rural people and have fuelled large-scale rural emigration, which, in turn, has led to unsustainable urbanisation. We need to rethink our rural development policies and uplift rural areas.
