With just 16 days remaining until Eid-ul-Adha, the number of sacrificial animals at the Northern Bypass Cattle Market had surged past 90,000.

The market was bustling with activity as daily truckloads of animals arrive from Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, and Sindh, filling the marshaling area with camels, cows, bulls, calves, and premium breeds of goats.

There was growing demand for top-tier goat breeds including Tapri, Gulabi (pink), Kamori, and Nachi (Dancing) goats from Rajanpur, attracting buyers and visitors from Karachi, Hyderabad, Sanghar, and Nawabshah. Additionally, ‘Kalja Dumba’ (sheep) from Sukkur, Naushahro Feroze, Larkana, and Sargodha are generating great excitement among customers.

To support the rising crowd, the Cattle Market administration was providing 30 liters of free water per animal daily and had reduced parking fees by 50 per cent. Administrator Faisal Ali said that ATMs from Mobicash, Easypaisa, JazzCash, and several banks had been stationed inside the mandi for customer convenience.

The arrival of beautiful, high-quality animals from across Pakistan continues steadily, and the volume of transactions was increasing each day. Adding to the festive atmosphere was the vibrant food street, which has become a major attraction for visiting families.

Visitors could enjoy live barbecue, desi chai (tea) corners, and folk music performances in a hygienic, secure, and family-friendly environment. According to Administrator Faisal Ali, “Our goal is to enhance the overall experience for every individual visiting the mandi.”
