Rs2.367m released for treatment of cops’ families

LAHORE:Punjab Police has released over Rs2.367 million in additional funds for the medical treatment of police employees and their families.

The recipients include DSP Saif Ullah (Rs 1 million for a kidney transplant), retired SI Bilal Tareen (Rs0.5 million for liver cancer treatment), and Traffic Warden Ali Shahid (Rs0.25 million for his wife's surgery). Junior Clerk Ali Abbas received Rs0.25 million for his wife's brain tumor treatment.

IG meets cops’ families

IG Punjab met with police employees and their families at the Central Police Office to address their concerns. According to a Punjab Police spokesperson, the IG issued immediate relief orders on requests related to transfers, promotions, financial aid, pensions, and welfare. He directed relevant officers, including DPO Pakpattan, DIG Welfare, and Additional IG Punjab, to act promptly.

CCD meeting

An important meeting on the performance and resources of the Crime Control Department (CCD) was held at the Central Police Office under the chairmanship of IG Punjab. The session was attended by Additional IG CCD, DIGs CCD, and senior officers from CCD Lahore. RPO, CPO Faisalabad, relevant DPOs, RO Faisalabad, and CCD DOs joined via video link. Officials reviewed the progress and operational status of CCD units in Lahore and Faisalabad.

Meanwhile, a delegation of the Shia community visited the Central Police Office and met with Additional IG Operations Punjab. The delegation comprised scholars from the Shia community, organizers of Muharram processions and gatherings, license holders, and caretakers. According to the Punjab Police spokesperson, detailed discussions were held during the meeting regarding the security arrangements for Muharram processions and gatherings.
