Rawalpindi:The ABP&AW organized a dual-purpose event combining a Bookshaw session and a Health Camp at Solace School, Rawalpindi aimed at promoting both literacy and health awareness among young students and their families.

The structured two-hour activity for students included an engaging lineup of nursery rhymes, national songs, and moral storytelling, capturing the attention and interest of children from nursery to Grade 5. A key highlight was the introduction of a 24-book Islamic story set by Asia Yar Mohammed, featuring stories of the Prophets and other religious narratives.

The session concluded with a quiz competition, where winners received small prizes to encourage participation and learning. Children were also delighted to receive giveaways, including puzzles, pencils, erasers, and bookmarks, fostering both joy and a love for reading. In parallel, a short awareness lecture on the importance of iodized salt was delivered, aimed at educating both students and mothers on basic nutritional needs.

The health camp, led by Dr. Tahmina Azhar, catered to mothers, where malnutrition and lack of proper medical care were identified as major contributing factors to the poor school attendance of children. To address these issues, free medicines were distributed, including supplements and cough syrups, supporting families with limited access to healthcare.

Ms. Tahmeena Malik extended her gratitude to the school headmistress and staff for their support in making the event a success. Mrs. Rizwana Waqar, owner of the school, also appreciated the ABP&AW team for their dedication to promoting reading habits and health awareness among underserved communities. The day concluded with the distribution of free storybooks to students and light refreshments, followed by a spirited rendition of the National Anthem, marking a heartfelt end to a meaningful initiative.
