41 officers of Prisons Department promoted
LAHORE : In a significant development, 41 officers of the Punjab Prisons Department have been promoted to the rank of Deputy Superintendent Jail (Grade-17).
Acting on the directions of the Secretary Home Punjab, the Home Department has issued formal promotion orders. According to the official notification, officers promoted from Assistant Superintendent to Deputy Superintendent (Grade-17) include: Shehzad Hussain (Judicial District Jail Sialkot), Shehzad Ahmad (Executive High Security Prison Mianwali), Hafiz M Rizwan (Executive District Jail Jhang), Tasawwar Iqbal (Judicial District Jail Okara), Khawar Abbas (Judicial District Jail Narowal), M Iftikhar Naeem (Education Lahore), M Shehbaz (Development District Jail Sheikhupura), Ulfat Naeem (Central Jail Rawalpindi), M Ashfaq (District Jail Kasur), Irfan Ali (District Jail Layyah), M Asghar (District Jail Lodhran), M Younis (Regional Office Sahiwal), M Ahmad (Central Jail Sahiwal), Farrukh Zeeshan (Inspectorate of Prisons), Sarfraz Khan (District Jail Bhakkar), Asghar Ali (Regional Office Faisalabad), Abid Ali (District Jail Sheikhupura), Anees Rana (District Jail Okara), M Irfan (Central Jail Gujranwala), Ahmad Bilal (Inspectorate of Prisons), M Iqbal (District Jail Bahawalnagar), M Saqib (District Jail Faisalabad), Mohsin Ameen (District Jail Toba Tek Singh), Naveed Liaqat (Central Jail Lahore), Abdul Shakoor (Sub Jail Shujaabad), Amir Abbas (District Jail Gujrat), Ali Afraz (Central Jail Sahiwal), Yasir Hussain (Central Jail Faisalabad), Naveed Ahmad (District Jail Kasur), Shehzad Aslam (District Jail Mandi Bahauddin), Ahmar Siddiqui (High Security Prison Sahiwal), M Zubair (District Jail Hafizabad), Nouman Ilyas (Central Jail DG Khan), Hafiz M Qamar Abbas (Inspectorate of Prisons), and Amir Bashir (District Jail Attock). These officers will continue their duties at their current postings.
Additionally, the following Assistant Superintendents have also been promoted to Grade-17, with their posting orders to be issued separately: Waseem Abbas (District Jail Okara), Nadeem Iqbal (District Jail Lahore), M Arif Khalid (District Jail Rajanpur), Sajjad Haider (District Jail Sheikhupura), Saqib Javed (District Jail Khanewal), and M Umar Farooq (District Jail Sheikhupura).
A spokesperson for the Punjab Home Department stated that under the government’s policy, eligible officers are being promoted in a timely manner in accordance with the rules.
