Vice Chancellor Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science, and Technology (FUUAST) Prof Dr Zabta Khan Shinwari participated in the prestigious international forum titled ‘Educating a New Generation of Academic Leaders of the Future in Russia and the OIC’.
The event was being held from May 14 to 18, 2025, in Kazan, Tatarstan, and is organised by Kazan (Volga Region) Federal University. Dr Shinwari was invited as a distinguished speaker, where he delivered a comprehensive address on key priorities for shaping future-ready academic leadership. His speech focused on the significance of ethics, global citizenship, and the importance of intercultural cooperation between Russia and member states of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
Since 2023, the Fuuast and Kazan Federal University had been actively collaborating to strengthen academic ties between Pakistan and Russia. During his address, Dr Shinwari emphasised the need for competency-based education, leadership and mentorship training, and interdisciplinary curriculum design to prepare the next generation of academic leaders.
