PESHAWAR: Advisor to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif said on Thursday that the internal rifts among various segments of the society were the biggest threat to the country than the external enemies.
“Pakistan has given a befitting response to the Indian aggression. Pakistan is a united nation, but we face a greater threat from internal enemies than from the Indian Army. Political divisions play a major role in this internal vulnerability,” he said after appearing in the Peshawar High Court.
Barrister Saif said that Pakistan needed political unity and stability to bring the country back on the track to development and prosperity.“Even the cases of our founding chairman are not being heard; they are not being scheduled in the courts. We must resolve our internal conflicts and release our founding leader,” he said, adding that the fake government was trying to take credit for the armed forces’ victory.
Former prime minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz tried to claim credit for winning the war, while during the missile attacks, both father and daughter were hiding in a bunker.
He said that they were still facing cases related to the Islamabad protest. He said the KP chief minister paid the lawyers’ fees and surety bonds from his own pocket. He said the Punjab government should now submit challans of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf workers in the court.
