Robbers snatch sacrificial animals in Liaquatabad
As the Eidul Azha approaches, criminal activity in Karachi is also on the rise. In a shocking incident, armed robbers snatched sacrificial animals worth over Rs600,000 in the Liaquatabad area on Tuesday.
According to police, the victim had purchased three sacrificial animals from the Bhains Colony and was transporting them to Orangi Town on a truck, when near Liaquatabad, armed suspects in a car intercepted the truck, and carried out the robbery at gunpoint. CCTV footage of the incident has surfaced, showing the robbers in action. As per the FIR, the suspects forced the driver out of the truck at gunpoint and placed him in their vehicle and drove off with the truck loaded with animals. A short distance later, the robbers released the driver and the empty truck was later found abandoned near Nipa Chowrangi in Gulshan-e- Iqbal. Police say there is still no trace of the animals.
