Youth shot dead during mugging bid in Shadman Town
A young man was killed during a robbery attempt in the Shadman Town area raising the number of people killed by robbers in Karachi this year to 39. The incident occurred in Shadman Town Sector 14-A within the jurisdiction of Shahrah-e-Noor Jahan police station. Two unidentified assailants on a motorcycle shot 22-year-old Anas, son of Shakeel, dead.
Police and rescue teams reached the scene shortly after the incident. Following initial investigation, police transported the body to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. A 30-bore pistol shell was seized from the scene.
According to SHO Abid Shah, the victim was a real estate agent and was on his way from his house in Sector 14-B to his office when the suspects attempted to rob him in Sector 14-A. Anas resisted prompting the robbers to shoot him. The suspects fled the scene after the incident. The deceased youth was unmarried. The SHO said the suspects did not steal the mobile phone or cash from his possession.
