MANSEHRA: The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) has imposed a ban on sell and purchase of land and its mutations in the patwar circles of Tanawal where over 25,29 kanal of land so far retrieved.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Special Investigation wing has retrieved over 2,500 kanals of valuable agricultural land that was illegally transferred to local landlords by revenue officials, including collectors and tehsildars in Lassan Nawab and Shakoki areas of the district.

“This is a scam worth billions of rupees as collectors, tehsildars and other officials of the Revenue department fraudulently/illegally transferred government’s thousands of kanal land to local influential people,” Farakh Ser Khan, the provincial head of ACE’s Special said on Sunday.

Chief Minister’s Advisor Musaddaq Abbasi has constituted a special investigation team led by Mr Khan, with Mansehra Circle In-charge Abid Hussain and other members, to probe the scam and recover the captured and sold land.

The mutation documents of the Revenue department obtained by this scribe revealed that most of government land which was illegally transferred was in the name of former MNA from NA-15 Nawabzada Salaudden Saeed, his younger brother Nawabzada Jehangir Saeed and their female family members.

It further revealed that the illegal transfers were carried out gradually over several years, allowing influential locals to wrongfully obtain state-owned land under the guise of official documentation.
