PESHAWAR: Adviser to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister on Population Welfare, Malik Liaqat Ali Khan, said on Saturday that efforts were underway to complete the Chakdara to Lowari Tunnel Dir Motorway mega project through both public-private partnership and China-Pakistan Economic Corridor avenues.
He expressed these views while speaking to a delegation of the Dir Welfare Organization Peshawar (DWO), which met him at the Civil Secretariat in Peshawar under the leadership of President Sultan Yousaf Dir Lala Ji.
A handout said that during the meeting, in addition to discussing ongoing development projects in Dir Upper and Lower, detailed discussions were held on the issues faced by the Dir community residing in Peshawar. Malik Liaqat Ali Khan said a standard highway from Chakdara to Lowari Tunnel would be completed under a public-private partnership at an estimated cost of Rs60 billion, including the construction of a tunnel from Laram to Rabat.
Likewise, he said, efforts were underway to include the proposed 214-kilometer motorway project to Chitral in the CPEC. He assured the delegation that no stone would be left unturned in resolving their issues and emphasized that the people of Dir were welcome to approach him anytime for addressing the issues.
