Woman sentenced to death

Rawalpindi : District and Sessions Judge Farhat Jabeen Rana has sentenced a woman to death after she was found guilty of murder in a high-profile case registered at the Kotli Satian Police Station. The convict, Rehana Batool, was charged with the murder of Lajpal Hussain Shah, allegedly over a family feud and property dispute.

The court also ordered the legal heirs of the deceased to be paid Rs 500,000 as compensation.

The case was registered on March 23 of last year under Sections 302, 109, and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code, based on a complaint lodged by the deceased’s brother. According to the FIR, Rehana Batool shot and killed Lajpal Hussain Shah following an ongoing conflict over inheritance and family property matters.
