Rallies across KP condemn Indian aggression
PESHAWAR: People across Khyber Pakhtu-nkhwa poured into the streets on Friday to denounce the unprovoked Indian aggression and express solidarity with the armed forces. The rallies, held in every district headquarters of the province, were organized in response to separate calls issued by the heads of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUIF), Hafiz Naeemur Rahman and Maulana Fazlur Rehman, respectively.
The JI marked Friday as Yaum-e-Azm (day of resolve) nationwide, while JUIF observed the day as ‘Difa-e-Watan’ (defense of homeland). The rallies were attended by people from all walks of life.
In mosques, the Friday sermons focused on Indian aggression. The clerics urged the people to shun personal and political differences and stand by the armed forces unitedly.They paid glowing tributes to the armed forces for downing Indian fighter jets and giving a fitting response to the naked Indian aggression.
In Peshawar, a rally was led by JI District President Bahrullah Khan. Beginning from Nishtarabad, the rally marched through Hashtnagri Chowk and GT Road before culminating on Saddar Road in the Cantonment area.
Addressing the participants, Bahrullah Khan condemned India’s attack and praised the Pakistan Air Force for shooting down five Indian aircraft in retaliation.“Modi attacked under the cover of darkness and then tried to hide behind a white flag. But we will not let him escape,” he said.
Other speakers included former provincial minister Hafiz Hashmat Khan and JI Youth President Osama Mir, who reaffirmed their full support for the armed forces.In Nowshera, JI KP (Central) Emir Abdul Wasi led the rally. Addressing the gathering, he said: “The entire nation stands united against Indian aggression, is ready for any sacrifice for the defence of our country.”
Similar demonstrations were held in Mardan, Swabi, and Charsadda, where speakers expressed their firm commitment to render every sacrifice for national security and sovereignty. They said that the entire nation was behind their armed forces and they would foil the nefarious Indian designs.
Meanwhile, JUIF organized rallies in all KP districts. According to party spokesperson Abdul Jalil Jan, demonstrations were held in Peshawar, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan, Kohat, Hangu, Swat, Dir, Chitral, Malakand and other areas.
In Peshawar, the rally was led by several senior JUIF leaders, including Senator Maulana Attaur Rehman, Ghulam Ali and Asif Iqbal Daudzai.The march began from the Mufti Mahmood Centre and returned there after covering key city routes.
Speakers at these rallies condemned India for targeting mosques, civilian areas, religious scholars and children. They called it a gross violation of international human rights norms. The armed forces’ response was praised. The speakers asserted that the entire nation stood by the defenders.The demonstrations were attended by diverse sections of society, including youth, traders, and religious scholars.
